An access controller is a person who is in charge of managing and supervising the access of individuals or vehicles to a specific place or facility.

The functions of an access controller
The exact responsibilities and tasks of an access controller can vary depending on the environment and industry in which they work, making it a very varied job.
But among the most common are usually:
- Direct and order the entry of persons into the establishments, so as not to disturb the development of the different activities for which entry is provided.
- Check that the number of people trying to access the establishments is not greater than the maximum authorized capacity. If the maximum capacity is reached, the entrance must be closed so that it is not exceeded.
- Verify that the persons who wish to enter the establishments meet the conditions established to be admitted to the establishments. Although a controller will never be able to frisk or check bags or purses.
- Facilitate access to people with disabilities who meet the general requirements for access to the event.

- They oversee the proper functioning of the checkroom service.
- They ensure that the activities or shows are carried out correctly.
- They collaborate with the application of health measures against smoking and regulating the sale, supply, consumption and advertising of the same product.
